Two snow-safe skiing-areas are right in front of your apartments (Zettersfeld & Hochstein) - and several more in the vicinity of up to 30 km:

St. Jakob/Defereggental, Matrei/Goldried, Kals am Grossglockner, Heiligenblut, Mölltaler Gletscher, Sillian/Thurntaler, Obertilliach, Innichen/Sexten, Cortina d'Ampezzo etc.)

For regular skiers or fun-park- and half-pipe-freaks - everybody will find some slopes to enjoy.

Over 400 kilometres of slopes for cross-country-skiing are waiting for you - if you go for the skating or the classic style.

You can also get your equipment (skis, snowboards etc.) in several rental stores in and around Lienz.

And what about ice-skating? There are artificial rinks or natural ones like the Tristacher See or the Weissensee - it is no coincidence that the national ice-skating team of the Netherlands sets its training-camps here.
